VICTOR LUMACAD - JUNIOR BLACK BELT

Hi, I'm Victor Lumacad and I am a student in the Yellowknife Wado karate club. I was born on June 8, 2008 and currently HOLD a junior black belt.

When I was young my brother and I were attending another style of martial arts. Although it wasn't bad, we decided to try Karate and we liked it more so we joined. I joined when I was around the age of 7, now I have been in the club for 5 years.

When I first started karate I didn't know what to do. As a kid I got easily distracted, so at that time I just focused on paying attention and copying the teachers. Over time, I learned good form and spirit which helped me progress through the ranks. When we trained, I always kept a positive mindset and I tried to train as hard as I could. Now that I am a red belt, I plan to learn more and progress my Karate journey.

Karate is a big part of my life; I met lots of people who are my best friends now. I like training and having fun with my fellow students and friends.

Being in Karate helps me be a better person. It teaches you respect, loyalty, discipline, and helps you get fit. Karate trains you mentally and physically which I like.

Other than karate, I like doing swimming (I'm in the polar bear swim club), soccer, basketball, and piano\music.

I am so grateful that I joined karate. It taught me many things that help me in real life.

Thank you.
